German Padel Open: A milestone for padel in Germany
Together with the e | motion group, WWP brought the World Padel Tour to Germany for the very first time in 2023 – a bold step for one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe. Global brands BOSS and SIXT came on board as partners for the event, which set new standards under the name "BOSS German Padel Open presented by SIXT".
From 23 September to 1 October 2023, CASTELLO Düsseldorf turned into a stage for 32 women's and 48 men's teams from the world elite. A powerful statement for the international rise of padel – powered by WWP.
Away from the center court, fans enjoyed an eventful week full of experiences. DJ booths, a mobile padel truck from SIXT, an outdoor court in the fan zone and interactive virtual reality experiences created a true festival atmosphere. With strong partners like BOSS, SIXT and CUPRA, WWP turned the event into a highlight of the European padel scene.
With the first World Padel Tour event ever held on German soil, WWP and the e | motion group not only created a sporting highlight, but also sent a powerful message about the future of padel in Germany. Thousands of fans on site, live broadcasts to 175 countries and an emotional experience for both players and spectators made this premiere unforgettable. Even though the German teams exited early, the tournament marked a major milestone for the location. The centre court at CASTELLO became a stage for new heroes and the starting point of a growing padel community.

With over 10,000 visitors and global TV coverage, the event not only reinforced Düsseldorf's status as a sporting city, but also brought padel into the spotlight as a dynamic lifestyle sport. Today, the BOSS German Padel Open is seen as a game changer for the German market – and the starting point of a new era in padel.
