WWP-Group Appointed Audi’s Lead Agency for Football

Sustainable Mobility Takes Centre Stage in Sponsorship Activations
Audi AG has appointed global sports business agency WWP Weirather-Wenzel & Partner AG (WWP-Group) as its lead agency for national and international football sponsorships. The partnership is initially set to run through 2021.
As Audi’s lead agency, WWP Group will oversee strategic consulting and project management for home matches in domestic leagues as well as international fixtures featuring Audi-sponsored clubs. The collaboration will be managed from WWP’s office in Munich.
“We’ve enjoyed a successful partnership with WWP for many years. We’re now pleased to expand that collaboration by developing new strategic approaches in football and implementing them across Audi’s domestic and international engagements. Through our sponsorship activities, we aim to make sustainable concepts and future technologies visible and tangible for our fans.”
Audi has a long and successful history in football sponsorship. In addition to its national partnership with Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich, the brand also holds long-term sponsorship agreements with Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur — positioning Audi in three of Europe’s top football markets.
Philipp Radel, CEO WWP-Group:
“We are supporting Audi with strategic consulting in the areas of sponsorship, project management, and the execution of key initiatives. Representing Audi across these world-class football brands is a tremendous motivation for our entire team. We’re excited to shape this partnership with fresh ideas and elevate it to the next level.”
Going forward, WWP Group will also act as the central interface between international clubs and Audi’s local markets. The agency’s remit includes management of the Audi Football Online Platform and the execution of selected highlight activations.
